Divine Love

To the Balinese the Pink Lotus is the symbol of  Divine Love,
which is is the equivalent of the Red Rose to many.

This lotus grew in the pond near our house in Bali.

The Mother Temple

October 11, 2012

The morning view from our porch as we begin to wrap up our Bali Journey

Greetings from Bali on the day after our trip to the Mother Temple marking the final temple visit for this  journey. Tonight we will visit Kabayan's compound for dinner and a prayer for safe journey. Tomorrow we will have a dinner at our Bali house for our Bali Family.

It has been special sharing these posts through our blog with our Global family that they may take in the energy of the peace that the Balinese people and their island radiates so naturally and freely.

The Blog has been very successful for we have had nearly 800 hits from all over the world, including the United States, Russia, Canada, Australia, Costa Rica, Italy, Malaysia, Panama, Brazil, Vietnam, Croacia, and the United Arab Emirate.  My feeling this has helped spread the prayers and messages of peace around the world.

This will be the last post from Bali. When we get home to Florida we will load all the photos on our big Imac. We will then clean up the best ones and have one more posting of the best photos with our awareness that arrive after we get settled back into our life in Sarasota.

We thank everyone who have checked in and been a part of our special journey.

With Love to all,
Pam and David

High on the south slope of Mt Agung is Pura, (Temple) Besakih, The Mother Temple.  This is the primary temple in Bali and all the temples face towards this temple.

We arrived early to avoid the crowds.  David was psyched up to climb the many steps of Besakih as he is feeling quite strong.  It was not necessary this time as our driver took us to a side entry that brought us into the main part of the temple.  David just giggled and gladly accepted this gift.

The air was cool and clear and we felt like we could see for miles.

The doorway to the inner main Temple welcomed us in.

Many were there doing special ceremonies for their family and village.

Even though the Mother Temple holds great importance to the Balinese, it was one of the Temples that I would prefer to miss.  It always seemed harsh and even though it was the Mother Temple is had a strong masculine feel.  It was as if the masculine energy had suppressed the feminine energy.

Last year was the first time David and I both felt a shift to a more feminine nature and the Temple was undergoing major renovation.  This year much progress has been made to bring more beauty to the many Temples within Besakih and the feminine energy is in full expression and balance with the masculine energy.  This created a feeling of stillness and peace.

Leaving the Temple

Arriving home we felt another shift around and within us.  It was like being in a still point of life creating a deep sense of clarity. This was reflected as we looked out to a clear sky and a view of the mountains which has been obscured since we have been here.  The wind was gently blowing from the north like the arrival of a fresh first day of spring.

Down to The Sea

Our journey today took is down to the sea and as you can see with the flags the wind was blowing and it felt good to have the wind in my face and hair.

Peering at the ocean and the waves breaking against the rocks I feel a profound sense of  wonderment  and awe at the majestic beauty of this earth and that we have been given the gift to be living as a part of this beauty.

In Bali there are always steps and many times these steps are irregular in depth.  Many are much deeper that what we are accustomed to and I call those the hip openers!

The steps led us to a small temple that jutted out over the ocean.

The rocks were weathered by the elements and formed a natural niche for the alter.  No matter where you go in Bali there always seems to be a temple, an alter or a shrine.

The people of Bali truly daily honor the Spirit in all aspects of their life.

Bali is A Garden of Eden

Oct 8, 2012

Words to describe the beauty of this Magical Island can describe what one is a part of as they travel and feel into the land and hang out with the people who live here.

As you check this page let you heart share with you what the picture holds. For everything in Bali is all about the Heart.  Through this heart connection and the picture you and catch a glimpse of what Bali is all about.

The morning sunrise view from our porch.

Even the land deep in the create has become agricultural community of green beauty, overlaid upon the lava.

One of our favorite past time is to simply sit and watch the rice grows.
They have three harvest of rice off the land each year.

Everywhere you look you can see and hear flowing water.

Every where you look is a WOW!  When God created Bali it was created from the heart and where ever you go it is as if you can feel yourself wrapped in God's love.  if you are really quite as your walk the land you can feel the heart beat of God's heart.

Trekking the Gorge at the Elephant Carve

Oct 6, 2012

The Elephant Cave Temple dates back to the mid 11th c.

There are many steps leading from the parking lot to the temple which is about one quarter of the way down to the river. We have often visited the temple. This time I told Pam that I was feeling healthier  then I have felt in many hears. It was time to test my body. She agreed and we set of at sunrise to trek to the river at the bottom of the gorge.h

The first part of the descent down to the river is through the partially restored temple.

Leaving the temple we began our descent down into the gorge.

After the restored temple the path was cut into the side of the gorge. It truly was a trip back in time and into the depth of mother nature.

As we descended the sound of the rushing river became like a song beckoning us onward.

Along the way we passed many stone carving, shrines and temples.

Our feeling was as if we were going back into time to the 11th c.

Reaching the river the sun was just beginning to light the water and the river and nature around us was bathed in the soft glow of morning first light.

We quickly slipped in to a deep open focused meditation observing
the beauty of all that was around us.

When it came time to start back I realize that I had completed the trek down with out any fear or need to stop and rest. With that  I jumped for joy in celebration of the new strength, health and peace that was inside of me.

With the joy of health I led the way back up at a good pace and only had to stop to rest for a moment....once. I then realized that this was the first time in over 20 years that I was in Bali and there was nothing that needed to be healed within me.

Yea for the gift of being alive.......healthy and filled with passion.
